How to Sell Loot in Dig Into Secrets

Loot is unspent Cash. Sell on a timer, inspect rares, then buy eggs — not trails.

How to Sell Loot

Selling is the quiet third of the Dig Into Secrets loop. You mine, something pops, you pick it up, you sell it, you hatch. Players skip this page because selling feels obvious, then they rebirth with a full bag or tap auto mine until the backpack bricks. This is the sell sheet. Rankings live on the loot tier list. The object list lives on loot.

Find the sell action

Look for a sell NPC, a sell pad, or a HUD sell button. Use whichever is faster. Walking across a public 20-player plaza with a legendary in the bag is a dare. On a private mining server you can be sloppier. On public, sell as soon as the backpack warning appears.

There is no confirmed “press E to sell anywhere” pass in the open API. If you buy a gamepass later, test it, then keep using the same route so you do not drop a rare in the grass. Controls cover click versus tap; this page covers when.

When to sell

Sell when:

  • The backpack is full or nearly full
  • You can afford the next egg after one trip
  • You are about to train and need inventory space for test loot
  • You are about to rebirth — unsold piles usually die
  • You are hopping servers

Do not sell every three blocks if the NPC is a hike. Batch. Time in the hole is Power. Time in the plaza is only useful when you are buying eggs or redeeming codes.

What to inspect before the vendor

  • Anything labelled legendary, mythic, or secret
  • Items with a use prompt (keys, eggs, tools, portals)
  • Drops that mention Alien, UFO, or Power — possible Alien Area lead
  • First-of-kind if a journal exists

If inspect shows only a sell value, it is fuel. Vendor it. Hoarding commons because they “look rare” is how the bag fills with bricks.

Cash destination

Cash exists to buy eggs and, sometimes, training boosts. Trails and auras are last. WELCOME Cash is an egg budget; spend it after a short mine, not on cosmetics. POWERBUFF is not Cash. See the codes checklist.

After you sell, do a one-minute mine test. If Cash per minute did not change, you sold junk and should train or hatch instead of opening a new spaghetti hole.

Auto-sell danger

Scripts that auto-sell will vendor a key. If you still experiment, read auto mine and never auto-sell S-tier. The legal version is this page plus a timer.

Rebirth and sell

Open the rebirth planner and tick “backpack sold” before the button. If loot persists (rare in this genre), you can skip. If you cannot see the tooltip, you are not ready to reset.

Public versus private

Sparkles on the floor in a public shaft are donations. Pick up, then sell. Private mines let you leave sparkles for ten seconds while you check the HUD. Play with friends if you actually want company; do not confuse company with a good sell route.

Return to the guides hub when Cash is cycling and the remaining question is pets or depth.
