How to Hatch Pets in Dig Into Secrets
Eggs turn mining Cash into multipliers. Hatch on purpose, equip the best, ignore the rest.
Pets are why Dig Into Secrets is an incremental instead of a hole-digging sandbox. You mine, sell loot, buy eggs, hatch, and the next shaft dies faster. The official description says Hatch powerful Pets right before rebirth, which is the correct order: pets make rebirths cheaper because you rebuild Power faster. This guide is the hatch loop. Rankings live on the pets tier list and the pets hub.
The promo art shows a planetary “LEGENDARY” drop bursting out of a crater. That is the fantasy hatch. Your first eggs will not look like that. Plan for commons and a rare that actually has a multiplier.
Before you buy an egg
- Sell the backpack. Eggs cost Cash. Loot sitting unsold is a fake poor.
- Equip nothing that blocks a new hatch if the game auto-equips. Know your pet slots.
- Finish training enough that you can restock Cash after the purchase.
- Skip cosmetics. A trail does not hatch.
- Redeem leftover codes so WELCOME Cash is in the pool.
How hatching usually works in +1 miners
You buy an egg from a shop or world egg, wait through a short animation, and receive a pet with a rarity and a bonus — Power, Cash, luck, or mining speed. Better eggs cost more and advertise better odds. Triple hatch gamepasses, if they exist later, are convenience, not a requirement for the beginner guide.
Because this title is new, we do not print a fake odds table. Open the egg UI and read the percentages in-game. If the UI hides odds, treat expensive eggs as late-game and cheap eggs as the engine for rebirth one and two.
What to equip
Equip the pet with the best progression bonus you own. That is usually the highest rarity with a Power or mining multiplier. A pretty common with no bonus is a museum piece. Unequip it. The pets tier list uses S–D for that decision.
If you can equip several pets, fill slots with multipliers that stack. Do not mix a tiny Cash pet and a tiny Power pet out of superstition; pick the stat you are pushing this session. Training sessions want Power. Pure sell-grind sessions want Cash. Alien hunts want whatever lets you break the weird layer — see Alien Area.
Legendary and secret luck
Players will chase the planet pet from the thumbnail. That is fine as a goal and bad as a first-hour plan. Spend a set Cash budget, then stop. Going broke on one egg stall is how you delay rebirth. Secrets, if the game adds a secret rarity, should be treated like the Alien Area: real, rare, not a daily quest.
Auto-hatch scripts exist as a category on auto hatch. They will also exist as account-risk. Hatch legally until you understand egg prices.
After the hatch
- Equip the new pet if it wins the slot.
- Delete or store floor pets if inventory is capped.
- Return to the shaft and test a layer. A real upgrade is a faster break, not a new nameplate.
- If nothing improved, you bought the wrong egg tier. Mine more, then jump a tier, or rebirth so the next egg is cheaper relative to income.
Pets and rebirth
Confirm in-game whether pets persist through rebirth. Most incrementals keep pets and reset Cash/Power. If pets persist, hatch before a reset so the next life starts with the zoo. If pets reset, hatch after. The rebirth planner has a checkbox for that. Do not guess while the button is highlighted.
Common hatch mistakes
- Opening eggs with a full unsold inventory
- Equipping the newest pet instead of the strongest
- Ignoring cheap eggs that would have finished the first rebirth
- Copying a pet name from DIG or Dig It
- AFK hatching on a public server while someone else farms your pit
Hatch, test a swing, and go back to mining. Pets are multipliers. They still need a hole.
