How to Rebirth in Dig Into Secrets

Rebirth is the long button in Dig Into Secrets. The official description ends on Rebirth to become even stronger, which is the whole pitch of an incremental: you throw away the small numbers to grow the permanent one. This guide is when to press it, what to sell first, and how it interacts with pets, training, and the Alien Area. Use the rebirth planner as the checklist so this page is not a panic read at the pad.

What a rebirth is

You meet a Cash or Power requirement, press Rebirth, and the session stats reset while a multiplier stays. Typical keep list in this genre: pets, gamepasses, rebirth count, sometimes eggs. Typical lose list: Cash, current Power, unsold loot. Verify the tooltip in-game. If the tooltip says pets stay, hatch first. If it says pets go, hatch after.

Rebirth is not a prestige skin. If you press it with a full backpack and a POWERBUFF timer, you donated.

When the button is honest

Rebirth is worth it when:

• The next training upgrade costs more than several full sell trips
• Cheap eggs no longer change your swing time
• You can rebuild to the same depth faster than the last life, thanks to pets
• You are about to log off and would rather start the next session on a multiplier

Rebirth is not worth it when:

• You just redeemed WELCOME / POWERBUFF and have not spent them
• You have unsold loot or unopened eggs that reset
• You are one layer from a depth you have never cleared — clear it, sell, then reset
• You are doing it because a public server chat said “rebirth noob”

The progression tier list ranks rebirth against “mine deeper” and “buy better eggs”. If mining Cash per minute is still climbing, stay in the hole. If it is flat, reset.

Pre-rebirth checklist

1. Sell everything you will lose. See how to mine.
2. Hatch if pets persist. See how to hatch and the pets tier list.
3. Spend leftover Cash on something that persists.
4. Note your current Power and depth so you can test whether the new life is actually faster.
5. Move to a private mining server so the first rebuild is clean.
6. Press Rebirth once. Wait for the HUD to refresh. Do not mash.

First minutes of the new life

Train. The whole point is a faster Power climb. Equip the same best pet. Skip sightseeing. Skip the Alien Area until the pickaxe feels better than last life. Then mine a known layer, sell, and see if Cash/min improved. If it did not, you reset too early or equipped the wrong pet.

Rebirth and the Alien Area

Secret areas in incrementals are often gated by rebirth count, Power, or a key drop. We do not have an official gate list from +1 Lucky Mine beyond “will you be lucky enough”. Do not rebirth five times in a row because a Discord rumor said “rebirth 5 = aliens”. Follow the Alien Area guide and patch notes. If a gate is real, it will still be there after a planned reset.

Scripts that smash rebirth

Auto rebirth scripts exist as a category because people hate the button. They also reset you at the worst time. If you use one, cap it. This wiki’s legal advice is: one planned rebirth, then play.

How many rebirths is “enough”

There is no cap posted. Enough is when the multiplier lets you treat early layers as a corridor, not a job. Then you spend the extra time on pets and the secret chamber. Chasing a leaderboard rebirth count without pets is a treadmill. Chasing pets without any rebirth is a slow treadmill. Alternate, as the guides hub order already shows: train, mine, hatch, rebirth.
